Check out the New Updated Remote Teaching & Learning Schedule of Workshops Now Available from May 18th - June 12th, 2020!  These workshops will focus on Natick’s 12 SuperPowerTools and Recommended Remote Learning Resources. May sessions have been added, but stay tuned for June’s coming soon.

If you have expertise in any of these tools and resources and would like to share that expertise with your colleagues in a virtual workshop please contact Grace Magley or Nili Bartley to have it added to the schedule.

Any educator who takes a Remote Teaching and Learning Workshop between May 18 and June 12th  can earn 1 PDP from the Office of Teaching, Learning & Innovation per 60 minute session with a product.  A product could be an explanation of how the tool learned about during Remote Teaching and Learning was used with evidence. An example of a product could be a Hyperdoc or choice board created after the workshop and used with students.

Teachers must submit a request for PDP’s with the product to Kirk Downing by June 12th 2020 to receive PDP’s. Teachers who teach the Remote Learning Workshops can also receive PDP’s with the same rules applied. A product may be teaching materials to share digitally with others.

Session Description:
SDLMI for Gen Ed Teachers; Implementing the Self-Determined Learning Model of Instruction
Self-determination skills contribute to positive adult outcomes. Students can learn self-determination skills simply by setting their own goals, creating plans to attain their goals, and monitoring their progress. In this session we will present the steps to teaching the Self-Determined Learning Model of Instruction (SDLMI). The SDLMI is a goal attainment process that can easily be integrated into your daily instruction and increase student involvement and accountability in their learning. You will leave the session with the tools to implement the SDLMI.
